Images have been released of a possible upcoming colourway of the YEEZY 700 V3, coined the ‘Carbon Fade’. Featuring a blended tonal upper reminiscent of the artist, Lorenz OG.

Released in 2019 after being teased the year before, the YEEZY 700 V3 is the first in the 700 series to omit their comfortable Boost technology. Being widely regarded as one of the better silhouettes in the ever-growing lineage, the 700 V3 features an almost skeleton-like aesthetic with a structured upper and chunky outsole.

While a number of previous colourways of the 700 V3 have been confused with other similar colours, a usual feat when looking at the other YEEZY silhouettes including the 350 V2, the more recent releases of the 700 V3 are utilising a bolder colour palette such as the ‘Copper Fade’ in December of 2021.

As with many sneaker releases as of late, leaked images have emerged of the next colourway of the 700. Posted on Instagram by industry insider John Alexander (@jadagreat38), the leaked images seem to provide a legitimate look at what is to be expected of a possible growing ‘Fade’ series of colourways.

Featuring a blue colour around the toe box gradually fading into pink at the mid-foot and finally into red nearer the heel, the ombre colour dye appears to be blended off the back of the upper onto the midsole, similar to that of the previous ‘Copper Fade’.

As for the rest of the sneaker, the usual aged style midsole and toe box can be found alongside a black tongue and speed lacing system.

Questions are naturally arising as to the inspiration behind the sneaker's colourway, following the success of sneaker colourist Lorenzo G Federici (AKA @lorenz.og) who has been creating a range of customised sneakers and garments to create 1 of 1, unique pieces in extremely similar colourways to the one used on the upcoming ‘Carbon Fade’. Getting cosigns from the likes of the late Virgil Abloh as well as Lil Yachty and Joe La Puma, a number of releases from brands are emerging taking a similar approach with little to no recognition of their possible inspiration.

Nevertheless, while the YEEZY 700 V3 is yet to receive an official confirmation or release date, popularity for the sneaker is almost guaranteed to be high, as with most releases from Ye and The Three Stripes.
